International Conference on Metrology for Meteorology and Climate - MMC 2016
in conjuction with
WMO TECO 2016 conference   &   Meteorological Technology World Expo 2016

September 26 to 29, Madrid, Spain

An occasion to reciprocally increase knowledge and understanding

During the last years an increasing collaboration has been established between the Metrology and Meteorology communities. EURAMET, the European association of metrology Institutes, is funding several projects aiming at delivering results of valuable impact for the meteorology and climatology science. The key aspect of such projects is the traceability of measurements and uncertainties of measured physical and chemical quantities describing the earth atmosphere. The MMC conference aims to give an opportunity to those two communities to present and discuss needs, methods, expertise and devices for cooperating in producing better data. The invitation is addressed to the metrology, meteorology and climate scientific communities and operators. Starting with the first MMC 2014 in Brdo, Slovenia, this time the MMC 2016 is organized Madrid, Spain, in conjuction with CIMO-TECO conference.

Venue

MMC 2016 will be organized at the IFEMA in Madrid. IFEMA is the Trade Fair Institution of Madrid. Its 30-year experience of staging trade fairs has made it the most important of its kind in Spain and one of the leaders in Europe. Its activities centre on the staging of commercial events representative of the different industries and the managing of its space and infrastructure for every type of activity: from trade fairs organised by third parties to conventions, congresses and any type of meeting or event. A detail information on the venue can be obtained at IFEMA website.

Oral Presentations
Oral presentations will be limited to a total of 20 minutes, including time reserved for questions (2-3 minutes). Please, check the program for the session of your oral presentation.
Poster Presentations
Posters will be presented in different sessions, so please check the program for the session to which your poster has been assigned. Each poster will be assigned a number in the program to facilitate placement. Posters have to occupy a space no larger than A0 format (84,1 cm width by 118,8 cm height).
Papers
Authors who present papers to the conference also have the opportunity to publish their work in the Proceedings of MMC-2016. A selected number of papers will be published as a special issue of “Metrologia”, the peer reviewed international journal from the International Bureau of Weights and Measures (BIPM).

There is a size limit of 3000 words, which corresponds to about 8 to 9 pages in the printed journal. Full papers are due by September 26, 2016, during the conference.
